When a focus session is active, the screen turns a warm colour and the icon changes — a clear signal that distractions are blocked. If you open a restricted app, FocusFlow shows a “App Blocked” screen.

Focusing
Background is calm/green. Tapping the icon starts a session.
Background turns red and the status reads “Tap to unblock”. Blocked apps show the FocusFlow block screen until you end the session.
Authorised Scope (choosing which apps belong to each category)
Because FocusFlow blocks by category, each device decides which of its installed apps count as “Social Networking”, “Games”, and so on. You set this once from the shield button.
1
Open Authorised Scope
Tap the shield icon at the bottom of the main screen.
2
Pick a category
Tap a category (e.g. Social Networking) to see the apps installed on your device.
3
Select the apps
Tick the apps that belong to that category, then Save.
On iOS this uses Apple’s system app picker, so FocusFlow never learns the app names — Apple handles the selection privately.
If a profile blocks a category but you haven’t added any apps to that category in Authorised Scope, nothing will be blocked for it. Configure your categories once and blocking will work for every session.
Long‑press a profile card on the main screen to open the Edit Profile sheet, where you can toggle which categories that profile blocks. (Available to Admins and Tag Admins.)
